This measure calculates the percent of first-time, ninth-grade students that have earned a total of four or more credits by August 15 in at least four of the following subjects: ELA, math, science, social studies, and/or a world language. |
| District of Columbia | School Environment Indicator (ES/MS): - Chronic Absenteeism - Option 1: The percentage of students who are present for 90% or more of their enrolled days at a given school. Option 2: the measure of growth in students who are present for 90% or more of instructional time. - In-Seat Attendance: Daily average percentage of enrolled students who were present in school. - Re-Enrollment: The percentage of students who are able to re-enroll in the same school and actually choose to re-enroll. This metric is calculated based on the percentage of students enrolled in year one who re-enroll in year two, excluding students enrolled in terminal grade levels (the final grade level served by a given school) and students who exit the state. - Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) (for schools with pre-K classrooms): The program-level score on a research-based observational tool that assesses the quality of classroom interactions administered in pre-K classrooms in DC. - Access and Opportunities: This measure will seek to provide multiple options for schools to highlight results in this area. School Environment Indicator (HS) - Chronic Absenteeism - In-Seat Attendance: The daily average percentage of enrolled students who were present in school. - Re-Enrollment: The percentage of students who are able to re-enroll in the same school and actually choose to re-enroll. | Florida | Science Achievement (ES/MS/HS): The percentage of students passing the science assessment. Social Studies Achievement (ES/MS/HS): The percentage of students passing the social studies assessment. Middle School Acceleration (MS): Can be demonstrated by achieving proficiency on a statewide, standardized high school end-of-course assessment in Algebra 1, Geometry, Biology 1, or U.S. History; or by earning an approved industry certification. This indicator has two parts: 1) the achievement rate, and 2) the percentage of proficient students. College and Career Readiness: This indicator includes two parts: 1) graduation rate, and 2) the percentage of graduates who earned an accelerated credit during their high school career. Access to Well-Rounded Curriculum (ES/MS/HS): - Elementary schools, the percent of 5th grade students enrolled in science, social studies, fine arts, physical education, and health. - Middle schools: Percent of 8th grade students enrolled in fine arts, physical education, health, and computational learning. - High schools: Percent of students graduating or exiting with a certificate of program completion, with enrollment in AP or IB courses, dual enrollment, or enrolled in a CTE program. | Massachusetts | Chronic Absenteeism: The percentage of students missing at least 10 percent of their days in membership in a school (18 days or more in a typical 180-day school calendar). This measure is applied to all grades, with minimal exceptions granted for lost instruction time. Grade 10 Science: The average scale score equated to Next Generation ELA and Math MCAS scale. Extended engagement rate (HS): The percentage of students that have graduated within five years plus the percentage of students that are still enrolled in school after five years. Annual dropout rate (HS) Success in grade 9 courses (HS): The success of students in grade 9 courses. Successful completion of broad and challenging coursework (HS): The percentage of all students enrolled in 11th and 12th grade that complete a broad course of study (MassCore) or achieve a passing score in challenging coursework, including but not limited to Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, honors, dual enrollment, and other advanced courses in a school year. |
| Michigan | Chronic Absenteeism: Defined as missing at least 10% of a student’s scheduled enrollment. Advanced Coursework: The percentage of students in 11th and 12th grades successfully completing advanced coursework through Dual Enrollment, Early Middle College, Career and Technical Education, Advanced Placement, and International Baccalaureate. Postsecondary Enrollment: The results of a calculation based on high school graduates of all public schools in Michigan against Michigan’s Student Transcript and Academic Record Repository (STARR) Collection and the national college enrollment data from the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC). | North Dakota | School Climate (ES/MS/HS): The survey results from the state student engagement survey. The survey is designed to measure the quality of student engagement in three domains: Cognitive Engagement, Behavioral Engagement, and Emotional (Affective) Engagement. For each school, the survey instrument provides the presence of engagement in each of the domains based on three defined levels of engagement. College and career readiness (HS): The number of choice ready graduates. Choice ready graduates are identified using variety of assessment metrics to demonstrate college, workforce, or military readiness, in addition to community service and capstone project requirements. |
| Ohio | Gap Closing- ELA and Math (ES/MS/HS): The performance index score for each subgroup that are used to award weighted points for English language arts and math based on the percent of tested students who fall into each of the six performance levels. Gap Closing- Graduation rates (HS): The comparison of graduation rates across subgroups. Chronic Absenteeism (ES/MS/HS): The percentage of students who meet the definition of chronically absent. The state factors in suspension and expulsion data in this indicator to ensure discipline is not being used to mask chronic absenteeism rates. Gifted Indicator (ES/MS/HS): The gifted value-added grade and the gifted performance index in comparison to gifted inputs, including gifted identification as a percentage of enrollment and gifted services offered. College and Career Readiness (HS): The number of students who earn or complete one of the following: -College entrance exam remediation-free scores (ACT/SAT). -An honors diploma. -An industry-recognized credential or group of credentials worth 12 points. -Advanced Placement test scores. -International Baccalaureate test scores. -Dual Enrollment Coursework. | Utah | Utah Code Ann. § 53E-5-206 Academic Growth of Lowest Performing 25% of Students (ES/MS and HS): group of students is identified annually based on performance on statewide assessment scores from the prior year, regardless of where the students were enrolled. This includes assessments in English language arts, mathematics and science. There must be at least 10 student assessment scores for this indicator to be included. | Wyoming | Equity (ES/MS): The weighted mean growth percentile (MGP) for growth of both the students in the lowest quartile of achievement (based on the prior year’s test scores) and also the MGP of the remaining 75%. The indicator score would be the weighted average of the two MGPs. There will be a 4:1 weighting favoring the lowest quartile College and Career Readiness (HS): The percentage of students meeting the criteria for at least one of the following options. - Option 1: Completion of a college preparatory curriculum and one or more of the following: a college ready score on a standardized college entrance exam or eligibility to earn college credits through Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, or dual/concurrent courses. - Option 2: Completion of a CTE pathway (minimum of a 3-course sequence) and one or more of the following: a passing score on a state-approved CTE exam or industry-recognized certification. - Option 3: Completion of a college preparatory curriculum or a CTE pathway and a military-readiness score on the ASVAB. |
